Library Services Guide: Find & Borrow

Library Services GuideA - Z

Find and Borrow Physical Resources

Due to the One Simmons Project, the majority of our local collection is inaccessible in person. However, you may use our catalog to find and select material to borrow. When we receive your request, we will submit an interlibrary loan request on your behalf and attempt to locate a copy from another library.

Borrowing Print Books
  • Search our catalog to find items of interest.
  • Select "Request this item"
  • We'll automatically convert this to an Interlibrary Loan request.
  • You'll be notified by email with the status of your request.

If the book or article you need is not owned by the Simmons University Library, we can obtain it from another library on your behalf. Follow the instructions below to submit an interlibrary loan request.

ILL Instructions
  • Navigate to the Interlibrary Loan Services webpage.
  • Use your Simmons login credentials (not your 2U or other login).
  • Follow the onscreen prompts to set up your account.
  • Enter the book or article information into the request form.
  • Article requests will be delivered to your email address.
  • Book requests will be mailed to your home address.
  • You will receive email notifications with updates on your request status.

You can return books and DVDs either on campus or through the mail.
