Mixed Methods
Mixed methods utilized both quantitative and qualitative methods, sometimes called multi-methods research. Mixed methods can help shed light on the complexity of a given study.

Quantitative
Quantitative studies use numerical data and statistical analysis to weigh outcomes. For example clinical trials are typically quantitative, and remain the principal way to collect scientific data on the value of interventions and treatment (Dorothy Brooten, Encyclopedia of Nursing Research, 2017).

Qualitative
Qualitative research is based on subjective forms of information, such as perceptions recorded from open-ended surveys or user feedback.
