Online Programs Support

Library Instruction

Student achievement is increased by exposure to key databases in their field and search strategies that help them find the most relevant sources to support their assignments.

These sessions can be delivered:

  • synchronously or asynchronously
  • as part of a specific course or class session
  • to address general research needs for a course or targeted to specific assignments

Videos can be embedded in your courses and are also available on the Simmons University Library YouTube page.

►TIP Consider a scaffolded approach, building in several points of contact between students and the Librarian to give them added and targeted exposure to finding, evaluating, and using information

Research Guides

Research Guides of search tools and resources to support your programs are available, and Librarians can develop additional guides to address identified needs.

Ensure Your Students' Success

  • Highlight the Library and its services in your syllabus. (Recommended text available)

  • Embed an link to the Library in your course shell. (HTML code available.)

  • Encourage your students to meet with a Librarian via chat, email, or by appointment for research help specific to their class and assignments.

  • Encourage students to follow the Library on Facebook and Instagram.
