What's On This Page?

On this page you'll find tools to help you critically evaluate the articles you find.  While you're the only one who can determine if an article is relevant to your research question, these scales, checklists, and review tools can help you decided if the research is internally valid, the results interpretable, and how applicable the results are to your work.

Critical Appraisal of the Evidence

These articles are from a 2010 series called Evidence-Based Practice, Step by Step, authored by faculty from the Arizona State University College of Nursing and Health Innovation's Center for the Advancement of Evidence-Based Practice.

The purpose of this series is to give nurses the knowledge and skills they need to implement EBP consistently, one step at a time. Articles appeared every two months to allow time for staff to incorporate information as they worked toward implementing EBP at their institutions.
