The best way to access an E-Book is to save pages as a PDF. This is because many E-Books have time limits and/or simultaneous user restrictions. To access E-Books beyond these limits, you can save desired pages as a PDF.
Before completing the steps below, first determine whether you are accessing an E-Book from EBSCO or ProQuest.
Ebsco eBooks will look like this: |
ProQuest Ebook Central will look like this: |
1. Click on the PDF Full Text icon.
2. Click on the “Save pages” feature (located in the top menu bar of the PDF viewer).
3. Some publishers have created a limit on the number of pages that can be saved during one session. Take note of the limit after clicking on "Save Pages."
1. Click the "Read Online" button.
2. After selecting a desired chapter, click the PDF icon in the top toolbar.
*Note: For ProQuest Ebook Central, up to 40% of an E-book can be printed or downloaded each day.
3. Select Page Range and Citation Style, and then click 'Continue'.
4. Finally, open the PDF file.
Although the easiest way to download E-Books is to Save Pages as a PDF as described above, you can also choose to download E-Books with Adobe Digital Editions--but keep in mind that some checkout time limits might apply. Follow the steps below, whether you are accessing an E-Book from EBSCO or ProQuest.
First, you'll need to download the Adobe Digital Editions software. For instructions, view our recommended steps on how to download Adobe Digital Editions.

The e-book is added to the Checkout area of the folder, accessible from the upper-right corner of the EBSCOhost interface. If you are not logged into your My EBSCOhost folder, you are prompted to do so.
3. Select to Open or Save the file from the resulting dialog box.
