Gale Journal Alerts

Creating a Personal Account in Gale

In order to set up search alerts in Gale databases, you must create a profile.

    • Click on the Sign In link near the top right hand corner of the page.
    • Click Create a New Account.
    • Fill out the form and create a username and password.
    • Click Submit.

Setting Up E-mail Journal Alerts

    • From any Gale database, click Change Databases in the upper right corner of the screen. This will take you to the main Gale Databases page.
      • To locate a specific publication, enter the title in the Title field.
      • Or, click on Title List in the upper right corner of the screen for a list of all available Gale journals.
    • Click on the title of the journal for which you wish to set up an alert.
    • Click on the orange RSS icon at the top right corner of the record (listed under Tools) to set up a journal alert.
    • In the box that pops up, enter your e-mail address and select the frequency at which you wish to receive alerts. (Most journals are not published more than once a week, so selecting Weekly will ensure that you receive a new issue table of contents alert within one week of publication.)
    • Click Submit to activate your alert.

Setting Up RSS Journal Alerts

    • From any Gale database, click Change Databases in the upper right corner of the screen. This will take you to the main Gale Databases page.
      • To locate a specific publication, enter the title in the Title field.
      • Or, click on Title List in the upper right corner of the screen for a list of all available Gale journals.
    • Click on the title of the journal for which you wish to set up an alert.
    • Click on the orange RSS icon at the top right corner of the record (listed under Tools) to set up a journal alert.
    • In the box that pops up, RSS Feed information will appear below E-mail options.
    • Highlight and copy the Feed URL.
    • Login to your feed reader and paste the Feed URL to create an alert feed.
