Use this guide to learn more about the streaming videos in the Library's collection and how to use them, including terminology, technical requirements, platforms, packages and more.

Downloading Articles from JoVE

The complete text of articles in JoVE can be downloaded as PDFs. To download a PDF, hover your mouse over the Downloads tab just above the video screen. Scroll down and click the link for PDF to print or save the article.  You can also read the complete article, as well as find a citation, just beneath the video screen.

JoVE: Technical Requirements

The JoVE video player is compatible with HTML5 and Adobe Flash. Older browsers that do not support HTML5 and the H.264 video codec will still use a Flash-based video player. JoVE recommends downloading the newest version of Flash, but they support all versions 10 and above.

Linking to JoVE in Moodle

To link to a video from JoVE

  • Identify a video in JoVE
     
  • Launch the video
     
  • An authenticated persistent link to the video displays in the URL address bar in your browser
    • Alternatively, there is a persistent URL in the right sidebar labeled: "Share this Article"
       
  • Copy and paste the appropriate URL into Moodle, syllabi, documents, or web pages.
