simmons community read: how to be an anti-racist

How to Be an Antiracist is a blend of social commentary and memoir in which author Ibram X. Kendi (founding director of the Antiracist Research & Policy Center at American University) explores the reality that there are no nonracists, only racists and antiracists. Expanding on ideas introduced in his award-winning book Stamped from the Beginning., Kendi examines the construction of his own racist ideas and the evolution of antiracism and activism. "With Stamped from the Beginning, Kendi proved himself a first-rate historian. Here, his willingness to turn the lens on himself marks him as a courageous activist, leading the way to a more equitable society. (Mahnaz Dar, 2019, Library Journal).
