Simmons E-Books: Finding E-Books

How to find and use electronic books from the library's catalog and beyond

Search Methods for E-Books

There are two ways to search for E-Books from the Beatley Library website.

1. Topic Research: If you are in the process of researching a topic, and are looking to gather resources, using the "Library Search" on the main page is best.

2. Known Title: If you already know the title of a work you are looking up, the Library Catalog is best for you.

More detailed instructions for both of these search methods are available below.

Finding E-Books Using "Library Search"

On the library’s homepage, type your search term(s) into the “Library Search” bar.

Click "Search." Your search results page will automatically open. Limit your search results to just e-books by going to "All filters" under the search box, selecting "Source type", selecting "eBooks" (select the +more link if eBooks is not displayed), and then "Apply filters".

Because of copyright, some E-Books have a limited amount of users who can use it at one time. If your E-Book has a concurrent user limit, you can find that information in the resource record's "Availability & permissions" section by selecting "View details" from the results list.
