Library of Congress Film Collections Several hundred early motion pictures are viewable in the Library of Congress's Digital Collections.
Annenberg Learner Access to educational video programs developed with grant money as telecourses, including series on algebra, art, chemistry, economics, film, history, poetry, and foreign languages, among others. Not all series listed on the site are available for streaming.
British Pathé Since the invention of the moving image in the 1890s, British Pathé began recording every aspect of global culture and news, for the cinema. All 85,000 newsreels are now searchable and viewable on YouTube. This equates to 3,500 hours of filmed history.
CSPAN Video Library This resource includes almost every program that has aired on C-SPAN, including more than 170,000 hours of content, going back to 1987.

Films included in this collection present points of view and historical and current experiences from diverse cultures and traditions world-wide. The current release provides over 1,000 titles and over 800 hours of film.

Free Documentaries Freedocumentaries.org is a website run by an non-profit organization that offers a wide variety of documentaries by independent film makers from around the world.

HistoryMakers Why search here? HistoryMakers is the largest African American video oral history archive.What's included? With over 9,000 hours (2,800 interviews) of unique content, the HistoryMakers Digital Archive features videotaped first person testimony of both well-known and unsung African Americans recorded across the United States as well as places like Norway, Mexico and the Caribbean. Interviews are housed permanently at the Library of Congress.

Docuseek2 Docuseek2 provides exclusive educational streaming access to content from Bullfrog Films, Icarus Films, and Terra Nova Films. Searching Docuseek2 is free and open to all.
Fandor Fandor offers over 2000 streaming indie movies. It also includes international movies and documentaries covering various categories such as comedy, drama, action and science fiction.
iTunes Movies iTunes Movies requires installing iTunes on your computer or other iTunes compatible device. Purchasing and downloading a movie is essentially the same as buying it, and you have perpetual access to the content.
Moving Image Archive From the Internet Archive, this library of free movies, films, and videos library contains thousands of digital movies uploaded by Archive users, which range from classic full-length films, to daily alternative news broadcasts, to cartoons and concerts. Many of these videos are available for free download.
MUBI MUBI is a streaming service for independent, international and classic movies.

RTVE.es A la Carta RTVE.es is the Spanish public broadcasting company and it provides free online streaming for a wide variety of its films, documentaries and television programming.
YouTube Movies Youtube Movies is a rent as you go system. Signing up for a Youtube account is free, and renting a movie costs a small amount. You have 30 days from the time you rent the movie to start watching. Once you start watching you have 24 hours to finish watching it or watch it as many times as you can in 24 hours.
